The City
A diverse heritage has left a wealth of historical buildings, in particular from the secession period, which through restoration, are still evident today. The "old town" is situated on the left bank of the Odra River , almost of all the city's landmarks are located in this area.

This route guides the visitor around central attractions. It covers 42 of the city's main landmarks. Look for the red arrows sprayed on street pavements.
Waly Chrobrego
A beautiful embankment to take a walk along and a great viewing point. A popular meeting place for locals. In the summer months many events are organized along its banks - keep an eye on this area.
The Pomeranian Dukes' Castle
Look out for numerous concerts, often international artists and cultural exhibitions held throughout the year in this beautiful historic landmark.

Szczecin is a shoppers' paradise; shopping malls filled with internationally recognised brands are in abundance. Get some retail therapy at Centrun Handlowe Galaxy, al. Wyzwolenia 18, and whilst there don't miss Galeria Centrum, Sp.z o.o., al. Niepodleglozci 60.
There are a few market places to rummage around too - pl. Tobrucki -don't forget to pick up your fruit and vegetables here. But whilst you are out for food why not pick up something to try at home - Hunter Stew or Gulash Seasoning. And while trying to warm up in the winter, a street market on pl. Zolrnerza Ploskiego, lights up with Christmas decorations to take home even if you can't take the trees away.
Woodcarving, particularly wooden boxes and dolls, embroidery, religious depictions on painted glass and pottery are amongst the many local handicrafts tempting the visitor. Amber is characteristically found in this region and you'll find fine jewellery fashioned in local galleries.
